Aaron Robert Todd, 37, of Hillsboro, Oregon, passed away at his home on October 3, 2025.
Aaron was born on April 19, 1988, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the first of three children of Robert Todd and Paula Kivett. Aaron grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from Perry Meridian High School in 2007. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Chemistry from IUPUI before pursuing his Ph.D. in Chemistry at Indiana University, which he completed in 2020.
Aaron met the love of his life, Kersey Overton, at a local coffee shop. After four years together, they married on July 21, 2019. They made their home together in Bloomington, IN. Later in 2021 they embarked on a memorable three-day road trip across the country to settle in Hillsboro. Aaron's quick wit and gift for storytelling made him a joy to be around, and it's no surprise that he quickly developed a wide and devoted group of friends in Oregon.
Aaron worked as a chemist at Eli Lilly and later as a processing engineer at Intel. Outside of work, he was endlessly curious and full of life. He loved anime, computers, video games, animals, and spending time outdoors—especially fishing, hiking, and taking trips to the Oregon Coast. A passionate cook, Aaron was always experimenting in the kitchen, perfecting ramen recipes and trying new spices. With a stubbornly self-sufficient spirit, Aaron could never resist a new project- woodworking, home improvement, or gardening- approaching each with creativity and determination.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kersey; parents, Robert Todd and Paula Kivett; sisters, Brianna Todd and Violet Todd; brother-in-law Chris Percifield; and future brother-in-law Tyler Gunn. He is also survived by grandparents, Delight and Paul Engleman, and Sally Todd, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly.
For those unable to attend the service, the family invites you to share fond memories, thoughts, or photos of Aaron on his obituary through the Duyck & VanDeHey Funeral Home website in celebration of his life
