Christopher Vanderzanden

Christopher David Vanderzanden, 43, a resident of the Hillsboro community passed away on August 9, 2026 at his home.

Chris was born on December 12, 1982 in Forest Grove. He was the only child of Nancy Vanderzanden. He was raised in Forest Grove and graduated from Forest Grove high school with the class of 2001. After high school, he continued his education at Portland Community College.

Chris worked as a clerk at the Hillsboro/Cornelius Winco for over 20 years.

Chris enjoyed being outdoors, being active and having a routine. From his daily morning walks and work outs, to hiking and playing frisbee golf. He took his health and fitness very seriously, making daily smoothies and taking vitamins and supplements. Chris always made time to go for drinks or to restaurants with friends. He was also a good cook and, in his downtime, he was often reading a new book.

He is preceded in passing by his grandmother Evelyn Vanderzanden, grandfather Howard Vanderzanden, and three uncles; Doug Vanderzanden, Brian Vanderzanden and John Vanderzanden.

He is survived by his mother Nancy Vanderzanden, aunt Brenda Vanderzanden, two uncles; Steve Vanderzanden, Jeff Vanderzanden, (add surviving grandparents here), and many nieces and nephews.
