Dorothy A. Vandecoevering

Dorothy Vandecoevering, 93, a resident of the North Plains community died Wednesday morning, October 21, 2009 at the Harmony Guest Home in Hillsboro.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday , October 26, 2009 at the St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church; 39135 NW Harrington Rd. in Roy.

Rite of Christian Burial and Vault interment will follow the Funeral Mass to be held at the St Francis Cemetery in Roy, OR.

Dorothy was born on June 18, 1916 in Roy Oregon. She was one of eight children born to Eugene and Anna Marie (Vanderzanden) Delplanche. She was raised on the family farm and received her education through the 8th grade at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Grade School

She was united in marriage to Walter Vandecoevering on November 10, 1937 in Roy, Oregon. Following their marriage they made their home in North Plains. Walter died in 1966. Dorothy continued to live in North Plains until (date) when she moved to Hillsboro.

Dorothy was first and foremost a devoted mother and spouse to her family. She enjoyed gardening and nature. Dorothy also worked as an assistant cook for North Plains Grade School

She is preceded in death by her parents her spouse and a son; Francis, five brothers; Rev William Delplanche, Lawrence Delplanche, Alfred Delplanche Louise Delplanche and Hank Delplanche.

Survivors include four children; Bernita Robinson of LaPine, OR, Joanne Witham of Banks, OR, Doris Vandecoevering of Forest Grove area, Carol Loza of Vancouver, WA. her siblings; David Delplanche of Roy, OR, Elmer Delplanche of Forest Grove, OR, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
