Evelyn Marie Weiler

Evelyn Marie Weiler, 93, a resident of the Forest Grove community died Sunday Morning, December 2, 2012 at the Rainbow's End Adult Foster Care Home in Forest Grove.

A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday December 10, 2012 at Forest View Cemetery in Forest Grove, OR.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday December 10, 2012 at the Dayspring Christian Fellowship; 100 S Main Street in Banks, OR.

Evelyn was born on October 20, 1919 in Sabetha, Kansas. She was one of four children born to Oliver Goldsmith and Hazel Ruth (Eisenbise) Helpingstine. She was raised and received her education in Sabetha where she graduated from high school in 1936. Evelyn later attended beauty school and became a beautician. She moved with her family to Hood River, OR in 1944.

She met her future husband, Willis "Bill" Harold Weiler, through an acquaintance and they soon began dating. They were married on August 4, 1946 in Hood River, OR. Following their marriage, they made their home in Hood River until 1960 when they moved to Tigard, OR. In 1966, they moved to Roy, OR and lived in the "Roy Store" until Bill's death in 1997. Evelyn moved from Roy to Forest Grove in 2008.

Evelyn was first and foremost a mother to her two children, John and Phyllis. She was also a beautician and had owned a shop in Hood River, OR. Evelyn also was a clerk at two of their family owned stores one in Tigard and the other in Roy, OR. She enjoyed traveling to Kansas to visit her family and time at the Oregon Copast with Bill. She was an excellent cook and was always glad to help her daughter and grand-daughter with the yearly canning. She loved to host all of her family's events, even birthdays, well into her 80's because keeping her family together was very important.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill 1997, her parents and two siblings Maureen and Warren Dale.

Survivors include her younger sister; Lola Epple of Sabetha, KS; two children and their spouses; John and Debbie Weiler of Hillsboro, OR, Phyllis and Dan Herinckx of Banks, OR, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
