James Ronald Carskadon

James "Jim" Ronald Carskadon, 83, a resident of the Forest Grove community died, June 23, 2010 at his home.

Graveside services and Military Honors will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 SE Mt Scott Blvd in Portland, with no reception following.

Jim was born on October 27, 1926 in Gothenburg, NB. He was the youngest son of 7 children born to John R. and Ethel (Anderson) Carskadon.

He joined the United States Air Force where he served as a fighter pilot until retirement as a Major and later continued in life as a construction manager and mechanical engineer.

He was united in marriage to Margarita in Las Vegas NV. Following their marriage they made their home in Bellevue, Washington, until finally settling down in Forest Grove, OR.

Jim's interests included downhill and water skiing but nothing was more important to him than the love and care for his farm animals and his beloved dogs.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

Survivors include his wife Margarita of the family home, his children; James Jr. of Forest Grove, OR, Ronald of Forest Grove, OR, Leticia Carskadon of Hillsboro, OR, and a Step-son; Steve Young of Kingston, Mass.
