Joanne Rose Abbott

Joanne was born in Gaston, Oregon. She was one of six children born to Joseph and Irma (Duyck) Franck. She was raised and received her education in the Forest Grove community.
She met her future husband, Don Abbott, while she was working as a waitress. They soon began dating and were married on October 23, 1948. Following their marriage, they made their home in Forest Grove and had three children, Pam, Kathy and Dan.
Joanne was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Forest Grove as well as a volunteer with the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Among her interests, she enjoyed camping with the Elks camper club, going to Reno, working in her flower garden, knitting, watching football on T.V. and going to the local casino.
She worked as a shipping clerk for Woodfold Marco Mfg. for 20 years.
Joanne passed away November 20, 2024 at Jennings McCall in Forest Grove.
She was preceded in death by her husband Don and daughter Pam Buerke.
Survivors include two children and their spouses; Kathy and Jack Meade of Buxton, OR, Dan and Jeannie Abbott of Hillsboro, OR and Son-in-law Gary Buerke of Hillsboro, OR.
Also surviving are four grandchildren; John Griggs, Tim Kelley, Kory Kelley, and Heather Flynn, nine great grandchildren; Madalyn Tilford, Jake Griggs, Blake Kelley, Britney Coughenour, Zach Kelley, James Kelley, Emi Kelley, Oliver Flynn and Fiona Flynn.
Family and friends are invited to attend a reception to be held in the Parish Hall at the church following the Funeral Mass.
