Juanaluisa Veronica Warner Obituary (1923

Juanaluisa Veronica Warner, 88, died peacefully and devout in her catholic faith on Thursday, July 5. Juanaluisa was born December 27, 1923 in Port of Spain, Trinidad, BWI. She was the only child of Pedro and Lucia Munguia. She was raised in Trinidad and attended a private girls Catholic school. Juanaluisa met her future husband, Fred Warner when he was stationed in Trinidad as a US Marine Corp Engineer helping to build the US Airbase during World War II. Juanaluisa and Fred married on the airbase on September 26, 1943. At the end of World War II, they moved to the United States and made their home in Texas until 1947 when they moved to Portland, OR. In 1952, they moved to Banks, OR and resided there until 1976 when they moved to Forest Grove. In the 1950's, Juanaluisa became a Janzen swimsuit model and after raising her 7 children went to work for 10 years at Tektronics, building circuit boards for NASA. She retired in 1978 and enjoyed being a grandmother, cultivating her garden and award-winning roses, cooking, quilting, camping and spending time at the coast and Kah-Nee-Ta. Juanaluisa and Fred were married 62 years before he preceded her in death in 2006. Also preceding her in death were 2 daughters, Diana and Deborah and 2 sons, Jerome and James. Surviving children are Fred Warner Jr of Maple Falls, WA, Richard Warner of Vancouver, WA and David Warner of Dundee, OR. It was Juanaluisa's wi sh that contributions may be placed in her name to the American Cancer Society of Oregon.
