Lajuanna June Jarrell Obituary (1934

LaJuanna June Jarrell, 83, a resident of the Hillsboro community passed away on Friday morning, April 27, 2018 at her home. LaJuanna was born on June 19, 1934 in North Bend, OR She was the oldest of six children born to Belmont and Noma (Thomas, Jones) Mast. She was raised in Coquille, OR, living with her aunt after her father's death. At the age of 16 she moved to Forest Grove and supported herself through her last two years of high school. She graduated from Forest Grove High School with the Class of 1954. She met her future husband, Ken Jarrell, through mutual friends and following a short courtship they married on February 19, 1955 in Sacramento, CA. Ken was in the Air Force, so they made their home in California until his discharge in 1957. They then moved to McMinnville, and then a short while later to Glendale, OR. In 1960 they moved to Albany, then to Reedville in 1962, finally settling in Hillsboro in 1967. LaJuanna was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her four children. She was an excellent homemaker and enjoyed cooking special meals for family gatherings. She collected Native American artifacts, including Indian arrowheads she would find during long walks in the Eastern Oregon desert. She loved collecting antiques and researching family history. She enjoyed camping, fishing with her son and traveling with her husband in their RV. Special times in her life were when the family gathered at their cabin at Paulina Lake and Sunriver. She was happiest when surrounded by family or out working in her garden. She is preceded in death by a grandson; Sean Newland, and sisters; Norma Peterson and Linda Crutchfield. She is survived by her loving husband, Ken, four children and their family; Gina Fristoe of Hillsboro, Kirk and Laurie Jarrell of Rockcreek, Kyle and Lori Jarrell of Rockcreek, Lisa and Tom Mannen of Hillsboro, two sisters and their spouses; Laverna and Bob Rowland of Corvallis, Mary and Roy Allen of Rickreall, OR. five grandchildren; Ashley, Brad, Matthew, Scott, Trevor, and two great grandchildren; Wyatt and Stella
