Laura "Jean" Lasswell

Jean was born in Austin, Texas to Laura and Russell Hank. She met her future husband Arnold while studying piano and voice at the University of Texas. She was the mother of three, and loved all children. In addition to caring for her family, Jean taught kindergarten for several years, directed choirs for both children and adults, was a member of her church choir, and performed in community theater. Jean was a sought after vocalist, performing at numerous weddings and funerals throughout her life, as well as performing in a prestigious vocal group in Kentucky. She was also a skilled bridge player and aspiring artist.

Jean and Arnold retired to Kerrville Texas and enjoyed rock hounding and travelling through the US. After the loss of her husband, she moved near her son to Hillsboro, Oregon.

Jean is survived by daughters Lynn Lasswell of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Ann Blinka and husband Steve of Willis, Texas; son Charlie Lasswell and wife Jean of Hillsboro, Oregon; three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
