Margaret Lee Jones

Margaret Lee Jones, 94, a resident of the Forest Grove community passed away on May 28, 2019 at her home.
Margaret was born on January 27, 1925 in Greybull, WY. She was the youngest of six children born to William and Lucy (Spargo) Henderson. She was raised in and around Greybull and graduated from Greybull High School with the Class of 1942. Margaret then moved to Portland with her mother.
She met her future husband, Gaylord (Wes) Jones, through his sibling, Aileen & Bernie. They soon began dating and following a short courtship they married on January 8, 1950 in Portland. They made their home in Portland and had two daughters Debbie & Judy. In 1960 they moved to Grants Pass following her husband's work in the grocery business. In 1987 they moved to Hillsboro to be closer to their children. Gaylord passed away on May 4, 2009 and Margaret moved to Forest Grove in 2014. Gaylord and Margaret also wintered in Indio, CA for 28 years.
Margaret was a loving and devoted mother to her two daughters, when they were in high school Margaret started working as a purchasing clerk for Griffiths Department store in Grants Pass. Margaret was a great cook and enjoyed golfing, gardening, music and dancing. She had a large group of friends (in Oregon and in Indio) playing cards and golfing.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents and siblings.
She is survived by her two daughters and a son-in-law; Judy and Dale McCauley of Forest Grove, Debbie Jones of Oceanside, two grandchildren; Rachel Sotta of Beaverton, Andrew McCauley of Beaverton, and three great grandchildren; Emma, Isabella, and Olivia.
