Mary Kay, 91, a resident of Hillsboro, Oregon passed away on March 4, 2022, at La Dolce Vita Adult Foster Home, under the loving care of Saba, Yamane, Noah, Hannah and Nathan- we are forever grateful for their compassionate and exceptional care these past 2 years.
Mary was born on July 15, 1930, in Santa Flavia, Palermo, Sicily, Italy. She was one of five children born to Lorenzo and Mariana (D'Amato) Piraino. As a child, her family moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for a few years before settling down in San Diego, California.
Mary spent the greater part of her adult life raising her children in Bellingham, Washington.  She moved to Roseburg, Oregon in 1994 and then to Hillsboro, Oregon in 2007.
Mary was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She loved to spoil her family with her cooking, especially her spaghetti with homemade meatballs and linguine with clam sauce. She enjoyed canning, crocheting, baking and sharing the results with family and friends. Later in her life, Mary and her husband Gary would often travel in their 5

th

wheel trailer to San Diego to visit Mary's family. Above everything, Mary loved spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary, her daughter, Mary Louise, her Grandchildren Tommy and Tammy, her 4 brothers and sister in-laws, Pete Piraino(Josephine) Nick Piraino (Mary), Emil Piraino (Grace), and Sam Piraino (Christina), and her parents Lorenzo and Mariana. We are delighted she will be reunited with so many loved ones in God's Kingdom.
She is survived by her four children, Alan (Kay) Duncan of Sun City West AZ, John Duncan of Bellingham Washington, Karen Vega of Phoenix AZ, Stephen "Steve" (Laurie) Jones, Hillsboro OR, 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Mary had an interesting life filled with hardships and loss- through it all she kept her faith in God and His grace and mercy sustained her to the end. Mary will be laid to rest in Lynden Washington with her daughter Mary Louise and her 2 grandchildren Tommy and Tammy in a private family ceremony.
