Patricia 'Pat' Hossner

–

Hillsboro, Oregon

Patricia Ann Hossner was born April 30, 1934 in Meridian, Idaho to Eugene and Edith (Wilson) Bader. She crossed the finish line into her Savior’s arms October 9, 2026 in Hillsboro, Oregon. Pat was raised in Boise, Idaho where she graduated from Boise High School in 1952. After graduating, she worked as a bookkeeper for Idaho Power Co. She met Glenn Keith Hossner in her college youth group in Boise, and they were married on June 16th, 1956. They began married life pulling a 30 ft trailer home to various corners of the country for 3 years while Glenn completed job training. Eventually they settled in Salem, Oregon to raise 4 children together: Tami, Tim, Steve and Scott.

Home and family were the center of Pat’s universe. She cherished and supported her children fiercely in everything they did. She took immaculate care and pride in each place that she lived. Anything done by hand, she excelled at: sewing, crafting, wallpapering and painting. She was artistic and created much of the art and décor that graced her home. Her bookkeeping skills resulted in meticulous recordkeeping at home. Checkbooks were perfectly balanced. She never slept until every penny was accounted for. She loved music and song and passed that love on to each of her children. She loved to cook and prepare food for family and friends. Visitors were regularly greeted by the smell of freshly baked bread. Everyone was welcome at her table.

Pat was a woman of faith, attending Trinity United Methodist Church for over 60 years and Calvary Chapel Worship Center since her move to Hillsboro in 2020. She had a warm outgoing personality and loved to laugh. Her life was enriched by many close and lifelong friendships. She was a doer and was involved in Camp Fire Girls, PTA, Friendly Squares square dance club, and Just-For-Fun singers. She volunteered for the election board, food banks, craft fairs, and numerous other organizations. Nature and the out of doors held a special place in her heart and she enjoyed camping, both with her family and as a part of Camps Farthest Out (CFO). Later in life, Pat lived in Woodburn for 13 years before moving in with family in Hillsboro in 2020. Finally, Pat lived at the Ackerly Reed’s Crossing Assisted Living for the last 2 years where she continued to make new and dear friends.

Pat is survived by her children, Tami Firman (David), Hillsboro; Tim Hossner (Izzie), Seattle; Steve Hossner (Kathy), Hillsboro; Scott Hossner, Salem; 7 grandchildren - Matthew Firman (Shelby) , Melody Firman, Ryan Hossner (Anna), Kady Boden (Sam), Alex Hossner (Jasmine), Henry and Ci Hossner, and 2 great-grandchildren – Xander Hossner and Frankie Nakano-Hossner. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Alice Mae 'DeeDee' Miller, Glenn, and many dear friends.
