Raymond "Ray" Lee Taennler

Raymond Lee Taennler, 87, a resident of the Newberg community passed away on November 8, 2024.
Ray was born on January 9, 1937 in Portland, OR. He was the youngest of three children born to John and Adeline (Gerber) Taennler. He was raised in the Portland area and attended Benson High School.
He met his future wife, Catherine, while attending church and they were married in Hillsboro, OR. Ray had worked for Weisenfluh Sanitary Services and also ran a nursery, "Ray's Nursery" for many years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He loved working with his hands and enjoyed helping others. He followed NASCAR, was on a softball team, and cherished outings with his family. A strong believer in Jesus Christ he enjoyed the community life of his church and had a beautiful voice singing old hymns.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Margaret Fishback.
He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine, two children, Dana Oilar of Bethany and Glen Taennler of Bethany, two step daughters and their spouses, Helen and Matt McFarland of Seattle, Heather and Michael Olander of Sherwood, his brother Alfred Taennler of Tigard and seven grandchildren, Mitchell, Kyle, Sydney, Natalie, Spencer, Catherine and Brent.
