Rosadele Mary Carroll Obituary (1921

Rosadele Mary Carroll, 94, a resident of the Hillsboro community passed away on Tuesday morning, September 27, 2016 at the Rosewood Specialty Care Home in Hillsboro Oregon. Services will be held at Belle Vernon Cemetery Chapel in Pennsylvania on October 19 at 11:00 am. Rosadele was born on October 18, 1921 in Monessen, PA. She was the oldest of four children born to Cosmo and Adeline (Carcelli) Bonari. She was raised in Monessen and graduated from Monessen High School in 1939. She then attended California State Teachers College in PA receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Teaching in 1943. She met her future husband, Grove E Carroll while at a USO dance. They soon began dating and they were married on June 8, 1946 in Monessen, PA. They made their home in Port Vue, PA until 1975. They both traveled across the US in their RV and resided in Tucson, AZ until 2007 when they moved to Hillsboro to be closer to their daughters. Grove passed away on May 6, 2016 after a marriage that lasted almost 70 years. Rosadele taught first grade in Liberty Boro, PA. When she was forty years old she went back to school to get a Master in Library Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh and then worked in McKeesport, PA setting up libraries in six elementary schools. She retired in 1978. She enjoyed square dancing, traveling and volunteering her library experiences in Monessen and Wagons West in Arizona. She was a great cook and enjoyed summer the most because she got to spend time with her children and grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, parents and two brothers; Lawrence and George Bonari. She is survived by her two children; Diane and Janis Carroll both of Hillsboro, a sister; LaVerne Galvan of Monessen, PA, two grandchildren; Nathan Labunski and Kate Grasso and five great grandchildren.
