Thomas Reuben Allen, affectionately known as Tom, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on October 18, 1943, in Ogden, Utah to Dareld and Odette Boulter Allen.
Tom's adventurous spirit carried him through a life rich with experiences and accomplishments. A man of resilience and generosity, he spent his formative years in Pinedale, Wyoming, and later lived in Spokane, Washington, Provo, Utah and service in the Army in Vietnam before settling in Manning, Oregon, where he spent the last 50 years. His career as a builder in the construction industry was marked by creativity and dedication, having obtained a bachelor's degree in industrial arts and education. Tom was also a gifted lapidary artist, car restorer, and airplane builder, and found joy in woodwork, fishing, camping, hiking, and music.
Tom's unwavering faith as a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints shaped his life's path. He served as a full-time missionary to Scotland, branch president, and bishop, touching many lives with his kindness and wisdom. Tom's greatest treasures were his family and friends, whom he cherished deeply. He was a beloved husband to Janet Allen and a loving father to Scot Allen and Laurie Marks. His siblings, Betty, Dave, Don, Sid and Mary remained close throughout his life and were a great source of support and joy. Tom's legacy of love, service, and knowledge continues to inspire all who knew him.
Tom truly believed as Paul taught in 1 Corinthians 13 "charity never faileth". His life was a testament to this promise, as he uplifted those around him with his warm heart and boundless generosity. We invite family and friends to share their memories and upload photos to his memorial page, celebrating the life of a truly remarkable man.
